At Central England Specialist Referral Centre we’re always looking to improve our knowledge and skills. It’s been a busy time at the Centre recently with lots of education and celebrations!
Congratulations to Kausar and Summy who after lots of hard work and dedication, have both passed their radiography course and all their in-practice assessments with B Met college. This means they are now qualified to take x-rays unsupervised.
Congratulations to Jade who has taken on the role of senior nurse. After being with us for just four years Jade has become a vital member of the team. She will be using her communication and organisation skills to manage the day to day running’s of the surgeries and the team of nurses as well as delivering excellent patient care. Congratulations to Fiona who, after 27 years of service with Dr Neil Wilson, is taking on the newly created role as Treatment Co Ordinator. She will be looking after all our new patients from the first point of contact. She will take our patients though their treatment journey and be a constant support for the patients who may have questions or need advice about their treatment. This means Fiona will no longer be seen as much in the surgery, but she will still very much be part of our patient journey. Fiona is excited about her new role and is looking forward to welcoming all our new patients to the centre. If you know someone who you feel would benefit from our services, please email Fiona and she can help start their journey.
Lauren, Jenna and Kausar had a day in London to learn all about cannulation and venepuncture. This means that they will be able to take blood from patients when we use our state of the art PRF technology which is based on activating the patient’s own platelets to stimulate and accelerate the healing of tissues following dental procedures. They had a great day and with the support of Neil and the team they are now putting their new skills into practice.
Sharing skills and knowledge is a core part of our social responsibility promise here at The Centre. We do this through our dentist and hygienist study clubs here at the practice where our team share their knowledge with the wider dental community. We frequently have dentists who come along and observe how we work and most recently we worked in partnership with Denmed Ltd and dental practice managers from across the country by holding their celebration event. The managers have progressed from Ilm Level 5 to gain their Ilm Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership including our very own Sabrina.
Gemma, Fiona, Sasha and Sabrina attended the Chris Barrow Patient Experience day in Marble Arch London recently. Chris Barrow is a business coach who specifically coaches dental teams in improving their business and the patient experience. The team were specifically looking at ways to improve our patient journey through the Centre from the first point of contact to the last appointment. We also welcome comments and feedback from patients on their experience. If you wish to give us your feedback there are several ways to do so, you can add a comment into the suggestion box in the downstairs patient lounge. You can complete one of our patient surveys or you can give your feedback directly to our front of house team who will report back to us at our team meetings.
Congratulations to Jo Thompson who ran the Wyre Forest trail half marathon. This was her first ever half marathon and she decided to go for it by taking on a trail marathon! She said “it was tough” but all the training certainly paid off!
“After feeling very anxious prior to my appointment, I left CESRC feeling much happier and in very safe and competent hands. Every member of the team that I came into contact with were kind, reassuring and helpful. The experience of the team was obvious from the word go and I would highly recommend this practice! Thank you!”
“Another great CPD evening on occlusion last week. Keep up with the study club programme as it is a great opportunity for us GDPs to stay up to date and meet other colleagues in the profession.”
